Daniel Tompsett

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Having spent time in roles that have varied from a head hunter (the top of the recruitment pyramid, or so he claims), numerous sales & marketing positions and at one point an ice cream man, Daniel joined Face in 2004. During his time at Face he has worked in a number of different roles. He was instrumental in getting co-creation adopted as a preferred process within the Deo department of Unilever and successfully introduced the Face Helix process to Orange, GSK and Coca Cola. He was also fundamental in the creation of Headbox and Mindbubble, which have been critical to the success of Face over the last few years. Working on insight and planning projects with clients like Google, Dr Pepper, Lynx, Comfort, Sure, Fanta, Aquafresh, and Boots have provided Daniel with a wealth of experience in a relatively short period of time and made him a key member of the management team. In his current role as Head of Client Services, Daniel is responsible for delivering projects on time and to the high standards Face expects. He maintains a hands on approach and gets as actively involved in as many projects as possible. With a keen eye for detail, Daniel takes great pride in delivering results and service that ensure clients want to work with Face again.

Philip Mcnaughton

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Philip has spent the last 15 years telling people that he works in market research and that, no, he doesn’t stand in the street with a clipboard. Specialising in traditional qualitative research for the first 8 years of his career at Synovate working for clients as varied as Dyson, Abbey, Durex, Walkers, Coke, Orange and British Gas. He then joined Face where he developed particular expertise in terms of online and youth research, focusing particularly on pioneering online qualitative techniques – both focus groups and collaboration communities in both the UK and globally. This means that he doesn’t spend quite as much time on the motorways of Britain any more, leaving more time to think creatively about how to get clients and consumers talking directly to one another and helping to develop Face’s approach to insight, brand strategy and planning.

When he isn’t at work Philip is constantly thinking about ways he can get to the South Pole…. any ideas?

Esther Garland

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Esther is the latest planner to joins Philip’s Insight team at Face – she’s very quickly become Watson to Philip’s Sherlock Holmes. She thinks people are fascinating, and so loves the huge amounts of time she spends working with them in Face’s online communities and offline workshops. Esther brings 8 years experience from previous research & planning roles at working on clients such as Vodafone, Barclays, Sony, COI and The Army. Since coming to Face she has worked on a range of insight and co-creation projects with brands as diverse as Lynx and Comfort and audiences as diverse as teens and pregnant women and she’s loved every second of it.

When she is not staring off into the distance with her her head locked in deep strategic thought you can find her getting down with the cultural types here in London.
